Bathroom Shower Ideas
Your bathroom shower is probably the one area of any
bathroom remodeling project that you have almost no limitations (other than size.) You can can lay porcelain, ceramic, terrazo, or just about any other type of tile. You can also use your imagination to come up with unique bathroom shower ideas such as different shapes, multiple shower heads, you name it and you can probably do it.
There are hundreds of shower accessories available too, like designer glass shower doors and special shower lighting. I've put together a simple guide to help you turn your bathroom shower ideas into a reality without having a mess on your hands. Remember, it's all about planning, there's certain things that are just a pain to go back and add after the fact.
Planning Your Shower Design is the Key
Here's a list of a few shower ideas and components that you should definitely consider including in your shower plans from the get go.
- Shower door placement - Make sure you can reach the control valve/handle from door without stepping in and the water should definitely spray away from the door so you don't get wet.
- Soap ledges & seating - As for the soap ledges, it's much better to build them into the shower rather than getting the cheap (usually plastic) style. For seating, a tiled built-in seat in the corner is usually fantastic. Woman really do appreciate these when it comes to shaving their legs.
- Speciality shower heads - There's a ton of options here. There are the usual massaging shower heads all the way into the designer shower "rain" bars that cross the top of the shower horizontally. In my opinion, this is what makes a shower. For example, if you're a couple, get double or triple massaging shower heads. You really don't ever regret this special touches.
