Bathroom Fixture Ideas
Bathroom fixtures is an easy part of any
bathroom remodeling project to get carried away with. You'll quickly realize after a visit to your hardware store that there is a HUGE selection of fixtures for your sinks, tubs, showers, jacuzzi tubs, you name it and they've got it.
Personally, I've always tried to stick with KIS (keep it simple.) With that said, I will admit that I've bought some pretty fancy fixtures in the past. I always try to choose something that maintains its purpose, there's nothing worse that bathroom fixtures that look amazing but lack in purpose and hardly work when you go to try and use them.
A Few Different Bathroom Fixture Styles
There are a few directions you can go in with your bathroom fixture ideas. Make sure you're matching the rest of your bathroom design such as the bathroom tiles. You don't want to end up with a hodge podge of fixture styles that don't blend well.
- Modern Fixtures - Typically modern bathroom fixtures have sharper designs such as square or rectangular sinks. These are pretty distinct (although fantastic) and don't blend well with other styles.
- Traditional Fixtures - These include your common pedestal style and rounded sinks, tubs, and walk-in showers. Although, quite normal you can still choose designs that stand out and have a little flare.
- Similar Fixtures a Must - Faucets sometimes come in pairs (one for the sink and one for the tub.) If not packaged together the same fixture manufacturer will usually also produce similar items for the rest of your bathroom. If you find a particular fixture design you might want to just stick with it through out the bathroom.
